The Materials & Logistics Supervisor will be based in our Charlottesville, Virginia location and will demonstrate leadership in achieving business goals, programs, and processes for a group of areas and functions. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and affect short-term and long-term business goals.

As a Materials & Logistics Supervisor, you will:

  • Provide daily direction to hourly team to support needs of shipping, receiving, kitting, stockrooms, and supermarket areas - including manpower, work assignments, scheduling of overtime, training, cross-training, and job rotation.
  • Shipping and logistics functions including, but not limited to: Carrier compliance, service issues, transportation related docs as required by carrier/service, lithium battery process (DOT, IATA, Training/Element owner/paperwork)
  • Obtain and keep active DOT and IATA dangerous goods certification
  • Participate in planning and execution of yearly physical inventory
  • Support, encourage and facilitate Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S
  • Support all company workplace policies, including safety objectives, quality, attendance, and performance management
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • High School or GED equivalent
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience required
  • Experience in shipping, manufacturing, logistics or engineering and knowledge of production and inventory management
  • Experience with MS Office suite and ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Ability to hire, train and develop potential employees
  • Availability to work occasional weekends and variable hours
  • Ability to stand for long periods on solid surfaces
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Associate degree from an accredited school in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field of study
