Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is a premier custom design build contractor for industrial refrigeration systems, providing design, fabrication, construction, commissioning, and service in-house.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanic! This position would be responsible for the maintenance and inspection of manufacturing equipment including forklifts, welding machines, and other powered manufacturing equipment. This position would be working closely with our manufacturing team and providing support to them and the equipment used in various aspects of our manufacturing process. This position has a high potential for growth for the right candidate.

Expected Pay: $25+

Shift: 1st

Schedule: M-F, every other Saturday

Key Duties:

• Schedule and perform routine, emergency and preventative maintenance of forklifts.
• Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
• Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
• Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts
• Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
• Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions
• Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs.
• Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation.
• Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor.
• Maintain clean and organized work area
• Provide preventative and corrective maintenance to a variety of manufacturing equipment including forklifts, scissor lifts
• Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
• Maintains legible service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks.
• Stay up to date with new technical information and techniques to stay current
• Ensure proper lockout-tag out procedures are being followed
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Works closely with shop foremen and VP of Manufacturing to ensure all equipment is working properly and in safe operating condition

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of relevant experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable working with their hands
• Ability to use hand and power tools to repair forklift trucks
• In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
• Able to troubleshoot and repair electrical forklifts and small engines
• Acute safety awareness; must be able to perform duties in a safe manner and wear all required safety equipment
• Good mechanical ability, reasoning and problem solving skills
• Forklift mechanic certification a plus
• Computer literacy
• Strong work ethic
• Good communications skills-written & verbal
• Must be willing to work some Saturday shifts and be open to overtime
