Working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, this position will coordinate daily operations, manage inventories, order supplies, prevent excess stock, eliminate non-usable stock, and solve inconsistencies between inventory and stock records. The Storeroom Manager is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the Storeroom and staging parts for use by maintenance personnel.

Primary Duties

  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly storeroom, inventory racks and boneyard
  • Implement policies, objectives and initiatives to optimize inventory management practices
  • Employ standards, metrics and procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency
  • Control inventory counts by conducting physical cycle counts; reconciling with data storage system (SAP)
  • Oversee all material movements from receipt, to stocking, to system consumption, to outbound shipping of returns and repairs, avoiding bottlenecks in movement
  • Responsible for the requisitioning of all MRO parts and working closely with the Purchasing Department to resolve any discrepancies
  • Research status of parts missing from outstanding work orders - communicate to concerned personnel
  • Ensure new and used inventory parts are tagged correctly and located in proper location
  • Keep storeroom organized and parts grouped according to purpose and use
  • Maintain physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts
  • Assists with inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting and control operations
  • Communicate critical inventory items received to Team Leads and Planner/Scheduler on a daily basis
  • Manage subordinate staff in day to day performance of their jobs
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Maintenance Department by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelors' degree preferred
  • 5 years' experience in related field
  • 1-3 years' supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of a parts inventory environment
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel) required, SAP experience preferred
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment and follow established processes
  • Excellent attention-to-detail and organization skills
