GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Network Systems Professional to join our team. This position is full-time and will support the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience configuring and installing Cisco & Arista switches and routers.
  • Experience with creating / modifying network Diagrams (Visio, Office).
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and maintaining network monitoring tools and applications.
  • Cisco Certifications / Juniper Certifications.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining network devices.
  • Experience using network management tools, including viewing / creating alarms, configuration management and troubleshooting syslog information.

Clearance Level Required:
Uncleared - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Clearance

Overview:
  • Designs and implements the Laboratories internal data communications systems, including local-area networks (LANs) and/or wide-area networks (WANs).
  • Plans, designs and implements networked systems, including configurations, supporting/troubleshooting network problems and coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as routers, bridges, concentrators and switches.
  • Works on project implementation.
  • Provides training and assists with proposal writing.
  • Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons.
  • Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Provides resolutions to a diverse range of complex problems where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
  • Contributes to the development of organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Works under limited direction; receives general instructions on new assignments.
  • Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives have been met.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Determines approach to solutions, plans schedule and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.

Clearance & Citizenship Requirement:
  • To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
  • Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.
