Summary of Job Duties:
The Event Services Associate is responsible for the set-up of facilities and the operation of audio-visual equipment for meetings and special events held within the Arkansas Union. Works with the Event Services Team to receive work orders to set up furniture and audio-visual equipment needed for special events and meetings. Assists in inventory management of equipment, provides customer service and technical support as needed, and operates sound/lighting equipment as needed for special events.

Regular, reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in events and audio/visual setups
  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two years of experience setting up for special events, including operating audio-visual equipment
  • Experience working with Event Management Software
  • Special events management
  • Experience working at an institute of higher education
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of sound, lighting, and other types of multi-media equipment and set-up techniques used in special events
  • Exceptional customer service training and skills
  • Ability to operate, adjust, and maintain various types of multi-media equipment
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
