Job description
One of our clients, a multi-family plumbing contractor, is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist / Warehouse Manager for its operations in Graham, NC. This individual is responsible for developing processes and procedures to make sure materials are accurately delivered to our construction locations throughout North Carolina. Additionally, you will help maintain vendor relationships and utilize your business acumen to deliver advantageous terms.

Essential Functions

Agreements with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous pricing, terms, and conditions

Work closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements

Performing risk assessments on future agreements, while regularly reviewing existing ones for changes in risk status

Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions to identify opportunities for re-negotiations

Ability to identify purchasing process issues and recommend process improvement

Excellent organizational skills and time management, ability to pull small orders, track tools and consumables

Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholder

Keep abreast of changing industry trends and changes in W.P. Rose Plumbing's operational needs

Work on special projects as appointed.

Preferred Qualifications

Procurement or Purchasing Specialist experience preferred but also willing to train

Procurement system experience a plus

Time Management: Managing one's own time

Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

Math and finance knowledge – procurement Specialists are good at basic math and are familiar with financial fundamentals.

Superb negotiation skills. skilled negotiators who know their way around a purchasing agreement. They can negotiate with potential vendors and suppliers to create a mutually beneficial agreement

Strong project management and organization skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Proven track record in cost reduction.

Metrics-driven, with the ability to exercise and operate independently.

Attention to detail – procurement specialists are very analytical, and they pay close attention to details. They can catch even the smallest mistakes and correct them quickly

Excellent written and communication skills. Procurement specialists are skilled communicators, especially since they constantly correspond with internal and external customers

Experience with cost codes and budgetary analysis

Understanding PO systems and tracking POs through job tracking

Competencies

Strong written and oral communication skills

Critical evaluation.

Skilled at prioritizing and organizing effectively with keen attention to detail

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Multi-task using several software programs, such as Cruxos, Excel and Google Docs simultaneously

Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (MS Outlook, Excel, )

Exemplary customer service and telephone skills

Ability to work with a wide range of employees from low-skilled labor to top-level

Relationship management

Physical Demands

Handling of plumbing materials will include lifting or carrying parts in excess of 60 lbs.

The majority of lifting and carrying will involve parts between 5 and 60 lbs.
