Job description

Essex Media Group produces multiple award winning publications, including a daily newspaper, 24/7 news website, two weekly newspapers, a twice-monthly Spanish-language newspaper, a monthly real estate publication, three quarterly glossy lifestyle magazines and a quarterly golf magazine. Essex Media Group is seeking an entry level sports reporter for our coverage area. Reporter will cover mainly high school sports in local communities on the North Shore of Boston, including Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Peabody, Saugus, and Swampscott. Publications include the Daily Item newspaper, three magazines, and two weekly newspapers. Social media and web familiarity and proficiency are highly preferred. Ability to work independently and develop own enterprise stories is a must. Experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop is a plus. If you want to write, you will get plenty of opportunities in both feature and game coverage writing. Hours are flexible and must have reliable transportation. We are an equal opportunity employer.
