Job Purpose/Overview

The Visual Coordinator – (Store) this role is responsible for executing and maintaining the visual/merchandise placement standards and marketing as directed by the Corporate Visual team. This role is primarily focused on maintaining visual merchandising standards for the (Store) location and

ensuring the store is always visually exciting to our Guests. This role will have a critical part in developing a holistic ecosystem of our M&Ms brand by assisting with bringing our key brand launches to life in store.

Context & Scope

Retail Visual Coordinator reports to the GEM with “Visuals” Captainship. There is also a “dotted line” to the regional Visual execution lead. The team will work collaboratively to make decisions, considering all opinions and feedback before making moves or adjustments to ensure total alignment and agreement on the best interest of the store, sales, volume and customer.

Key Responsibilities

M&M’s BRAND AMBASSADOR and PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE:

  • Display a “Guest comes first” attitude by prioritizing Guest Experience.
  • Acts as a positive role model for others by demonstrating passion and enthusiasm.

CUSTOMER FOCUS:

  • Ensures presentation minimum standards are met daily through excellent maintenance of visual displays throughout total store.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR BUSINESS RESULTS:

  • Demonstrates understanding of retail metrics; celebrate success and make suggestions for improvement when necessary.
  • Make recommendations for M&M’s retail store floor moves to maximize sales volume by square foot.

FRIENDSHIP and COLLABORATION:

  • Collaborates with corporate Visual Merchandising team to create and maintain merchandising standards.
  • Provide onstage support with customers and store associates when needed and as directed by the Store Director.
  • Communicates gaps / holes / excess inventory in product assortment to the planning team so that alternates can be investigated

PUNCTUALITY & INTEGRITY:

  • Compliance to all company policies and procedures including safety, food handling, Loss Prevention and Emergency procedures
  • Exemplify The Five Principles of Mars and Associate Concept

INITIATIVE and JUDGEMENT:

  • Executes visual elements based on seasonal plan/calendar for displays and windows as communicated by the corporate visual & marketing teams through product and VM directives.

Job Specifications/Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/advanced training/education is desirable.

Experience

  • A minimum 2 years experience working in a fast paced, high volume retail operation, with an emphasis or specialization in visual merchandising strongly preferred.
  • High degree of creativity, vision and ability to 'think outside the box'.
  • Ability to be highly resourceful and imaginative in using all available resources.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to set displays and execute floor sets. Ability to deal with time pressures and set priorities.
  • Balances serving multiple guests and completing multiple tasks, sometimes with limited supervision.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite). Some graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite strongly desired but not required.
