Position Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to work weekends, holidays, and cover additional shifts as required by management.
  • Proven ability to work through challenging situations while remaining calm and professional.
  • Ability to work in extreme environmental temperatures heat/cold.
  • Minimum 5 years security experience with 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Must have a valid Illinois Driver's License, with a clean MVR (No moving violations within the past 3 years).
  • Possess a high school diploma or the equivalent.
  • All applicants must go through our pre-employment screening process including a background investigation.
  • Be mature in demeanor, personality and attitude. Possess strong communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Have a stable work history.
  • Maintain an impeccable image and adhere to our professional grooming standards.
  • Possess strong customer service and public relation skills.
  • Able to interact well with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Must maintain a working telephone at all times.
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation.
  • Must have a valid Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) or willing to apply for one.
  • Must have a 20-hour training certificate or complete within in 30 days of employment.

Job duties (General)

  • You will act as the Guardian Ambassador to our clients and will be the leader in coordinating communications and driving the operational standards assigned for each client location.
  • You will interact with all levels of the organization; must maintain a working knowledge of the assigned client locations and Guardian’s security practices providing exceptional customer service, effectively manage people and procedures, as well as ensuring contract compliance and adherence to site security protocols established within the Post Orders.
  • You will direct, plan, and maintain Safety and Security programs for Clients/Employees/Staff. These programs include access control and alarm systems, employee identification, visitor access, and parking programs.
  • You will perform site training or retraining of officers measuring competency, appearance, and the impact with the organization. Each officer must support our Mission statement and enhance the Client’s experience daily.
  • Work with Management Team to understand clients’ objectives and security needs; manage implementation of officers at client’s sites.
  • Oversee and de-brief Field Supervisors.
  • Maintain at a minimum, monthly client meetings in person with the primary account contact. Utilize eHub Surveys to capture interaction and address/rectify any problems. Maintain client contact on a daily basis. Make telephone calls to clients at least every two weeks.
  • Make immediate changes or adjustments to client schedules, post orders, work sites or security officer personnel to accommodate or meet clients’ or Guardian’s expectations.
  • Write Post Orders for new sites; ensure current Post Orders are being fulfilled.
  • Conduct audits at each site and ensure that the Post Orders are updated, accurate, and being followed. Each manual is to be updated no less than once a year.
  • Conduct inspections of security officers and sites for image, job knowledge, etc.
  • Confirm that each officer is properly trained and meets the clients’ specific demands.
  • Ensure that all work sites are kept clean and well-organized to attain the impeccable image we represent.
  • Evaluate client locations, and make necessary changes to accommodate clients’ needs and wants.
  • Responsible for PERC and TAN card compliance and follow-up.
  • Devote at least 50% of schedule in the field with clients and/or security officers, 50% at Guardian Security headquarters.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Maintain a casual, professional business attire and present a neat, groomed and clean-shaven personal appearance.
  • Scheduling
  • Distribute schedules on each Tuesday to officers and initial Schedule Distribution log. Notify guards of work assignments and changes in instructions by telephone. Enter employee work schedules and post assignment information into computer.
  • Monitor and record guard attendance.
