About Us

One Medical is a primary care solution challenging the industry status quo by making quality care more affordable, accessible and enjoyable. But this isn't your average doctor's office. We're on a mission to transform healthcare, which means improving the experience for everyone involved - from patients and providers to employers and health networks. Our seamless in-office and 24/7 virtual care services, on-site labs, and programs for preventive care, chronic care management, common illnesses and mental health concerns have been delighting people for the past fifteen years.

In February 2023 we marked a milestone when One Medical joined Amazon. Together, we look to deliver exceptional health care to more consumers, employers, care team members, and health networks to achieve better health outcomes. As we continue to grow and seek to impact more lives, we're building a diverse, driven and empathetic team, while working hard to cultivate an environment where everyone can thrive.

Opportunity:

One Medical is on a mission to transform healthcare for all, and now in partnership with Amazon, we're scaling this exciting model of exceptional care nationwide. We build most of the consumer, operational and clinical software used by our members, providers and admins in-house. This unique level of integration and ownership allows us to develop innovative products and services that are addressing some of the most difficult problems in healthcare. Within our Member Experience product team, we design and build best-in-class digital healthcare experiences, uniquely integrated with a growing number of in-person clinics.

As a Sr. Product Designer on our Member Experience team, you'll work on projects that have a critical impact on the lives of our members (aka patients) and the growth of our business. Your work will focus on essential flows within the member-facing web and mobile product, particularly with on-demand virtual care experiences such as video chats, medication management, and more. You will help us scale and optimize current experiences, as well as envision the future.

You'll be successful in this role if you have experience or are excited about building core user flows that help our members engage with their health. You're someone who's a team player who knows that great products are delivered through building relationships and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. You thrive by iterating quickly and solving complex problems through analysis, wisdom and judgment. You're humble, focus on craft and quality, and have a get it done attitude.

What you'll likely work on:

  • Consider the entire lifecycle of product and user experience, from early concepting in design sprints, building and testing prototypes, shipping designs, and reviewing the success of launched features.
  • Collaborate with PMs and engineers to gather and evaluate user requirements, help create product strategy, and share thoughtful, high quality designs.
  • Prepare and conduct user research as needed to uncover opportunities, user needs and to test designs.
  • Design user flows and digital product interfaces that span across platforms in close collaboration with other designers and cross-functional product teams.
  • Think through the end-to-end service design with cross-functional team members from the product development organization as well as from our clinical and operations teams.

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of product design experience in an agile environment or equivalent.
  • A portfolio including deep dives to several projects you've worked on, and your journey to the final solution.
  • Experience executing design projects from the beginning to the end (e.g., user research, UX flows, UI design, QA) in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience designing for native mobile (iOS and Android) and responsive web experiences.
  • Comfort using contemporary design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch).
  • Ability to thrive working in small cross-functional teams with product managers, engineers, clinical, and QA, among others.
  • A focus on human and value-centered design—you think about design decisions that drive the business forward while ensuring all users get the best experience.
  • Unconventional design backgrounds like bootcamps, analogous skills or self taught are encouraged to apply.
