About Our Job
The City and County of Denver is seeking an experienced and customer-focused Senior Recruiter to join the Office of Human Resources (
OHR
) Talent Acquisition team to support the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (
DOTI
).

In this role, you will implement strategic full-cycle talent acquisition and workforce priorities for two of our largest agencies. Our focus is ensuring the City of Denver has the talented and diverse teams that can also make a positive difference. The impact you’ll have will improve the lives and safety for the people of Denver.

As a Senior Recruiter you will serve as a strategic talent acquisition business partner advising staff on hiring strategies, processes and policies. You will act as a subject matter expert to provide direct thought partnership and strategic counsel to hiring managers and teams on full-cycle recruitment and selection including industry best practices in candidate profile development, interviewing, evaluating, selecting and making offers to candidates with a focus on equity, diversity and inclusion.

Additionally, as a Senior Recruiter, you will:
  • Collaborate and lead the implementation of recruitment and selection strategies and processes from requisition to hire across a wide variety of levels and functional areas in alignment with agency workforce priorities and goals, and the City’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Partner with agency leaders and clientele to provide strategic business solutions to strengthen human talent, systems and processes
  • Consult with clients to develop and implement recruitment strategies based on hiring needs, staffing trends, and following city-wide recruit to hire processes and practices.
  • Develop and/or assist with job announcements, advertisements, online and social media postings and other recruitment materials
  • Develop and engage high-quality, diverse pipelines of candidates, for immediate and future vacancies by leveraging a variety of sourcing strategies, including social media, internet sourcing, and networking
  • Review and screen applicants to provide best qualified candidates to managers for interview and selection in alignment with job profiles
  • Plan and facilitate the interview process and partner with managers to prepare and extend offers
  • Create an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience
  • Ensure that all phases of recruitment and selection comply with applicable regulations and City policies
  • Mentor junior experienced OHR Talent Acquisition team members, manage special projects, programs or initiatives as needed
About You
We are looking for a Senior Recruiter with extensive strategic client management skills in a fast-paced, in-house recruiting environment and has proven success filling a wide variety of positions. We highly value the ability to work cohesively within a team of Recruiters and HR professionals, as well as the ability to work independently to successfully fill positions and complete team goals. Prioritization and flexibility are key skills for this position as situations and demands may often change.

Our ideal candidate will have some or all the following skills and experience:
  • Demonstrated experience providing full cycle recruiting services, to include developing and implementing equity-centered recruitment and selection strategies. Ability to strategically use and synthesize data for a variety of audiences
  • A Business Partner mindset (you learn your clients' business to enhance your effectiveness and can identify multiple approaches to solve problems and articulate trade-offs)
  • A deep commitment to attracting, hiring and developing diverse talent including a thorough understanding of all facets of talent acquisition
  • Strong relationship building skills that you use to connect and collaborate with external candidates, senior leaders and internal staff
  • Excellent consultative and organizational skills. Ability to use strong customer service and communication skills to influence business outcomes

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Experience: Five (5) years of experience in a recruiting environment
  • Education & Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
The City and County of Denver utilizes a hybrid model workplace that balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field at least three days a week and telecommute at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days.
