Job Description:

JSL is seeking a highly motivated and experienced senior technician for an exciting and dynamic position working on the MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS), the Navy’s premier missile launching system. This position may require technical support for various Launching System, Canisters, AUR, and Test Equipment as assigned to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division, including executive-level communications and briefings with NAVSEA, NSWC PHD, ship commanders, and industry partners.

• Provide technical services to technical interchange reviews, teleconferences, project meetings, and program-level reviews, test plan working groups, mission control panels, and flight readiness reviews.
• Experience performing electronics troubleshooting, assembly, fabrication, and repair of CCA components and cables
• Experience with reading and interpreting schematics and drawing packages.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. citizen with an Active U.S. Security Clearance level Secret
• Electronics engineering technician associates degree from an accredited college or trade school or electronics technician certificate from the military
• A minimum of five (5) years total of electronics troubleshooting fabrication and repair.
• A minimum of two (2) years of electronics assembly fabrication including CCA components and cables.
• A minimum of two (2) years of electronics repair including CCA components and cables.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics and drawing packages. Holds current ICP 610 and ICP 620 certifications and three years of work associated with these certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least two (2) years of electronics system installation.
• Demonstrated basic capability in MS Office and drafting software.
• Demonstrate experience in developing written and oral technical reports.
• Demonstrate ability to develop manuals and procedures.

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance as specified in the minimum qualifications. Selected candidates will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance.
