Job Description
EBAD seeks a critical thinking and skilled technician for the position Electronics Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Technician, reporting to the Electronics Process Engineering Lead. The position is located in Simsbury, CT. Relocation assistance is not provided.
Responsibilities:
The Electronics SMT Technician will execute a variety of SMT and assembly tasks in support of the Electronics Value Stream. SMT activities include operation of equipment associated with PCBA assembly. Assembly processes include inspection, hand soldering, and other assembly related tasks as required.
- Operation of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Equipment (flying probe, x-ray, conformal coat machine, selective solder, as well as, paste printer, automated pick & place, reflow, AOI)
- Assembly and Inspection of Electronics per IPC and J-STD requirements (Soldering, Staking, Coating, etc)
- Assist SMT engineers in development or refinement of SMT processes and procedures
- Maintain accurate inventory of component parts and materials.
- Setup and maintain work cells in accordance with 5S principles.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years SMT equipment operation experience
- Knowledge of and ability to work to J-STD-001 class 3 requirements
- Ability to work to procedures of little detail as well as follow procedures of strict detail
- Must have a high school diploma
Desired skills:
- Experience working in a development atmosphere
- Current J-STD-001 Soldering Certification
- Current IPC-A-610 Inspection Certification
- Experience working with flying probe and inspection equipment
