Job Brief

The Sr. Manager Domestic Products & Strategy will join a team responsible for defining and implementing the domestic delivery service product roadmap for DHL eCommerce Solutions with a focus to maximize the value of the offering for existing/new customers

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Manager Domestic Products & Strategy will join a team responsible for defining and implementing the domestic delivery service product roadmap for DHL eCommerce Solutions with a focus to maximize the value of the offering for existing and new customers and drive business growth. The role will be responsible for market intelligence/research, driving key strategic initiatives, and assisting in ongoing Product Management tasks. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, detail-oriented and has a demonstrated record of leading cross-functional teams, managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously and successfully delivering results in a fast pace, dynamic environment.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Market Intelligence/Research
o Conduct regular logistics market analysis based on but not limited to research studies (e.g. Colography)
o Buildup & maintain knowledge base including presentations on competitors, e-commerce market and trends
o Provide support in defining DHLeC product value proposition based on e-commerce sector trends, customer needs, competitors dynamics and internal capabilities
o Monitor product performance in terms of revenue, cost and service; conduct periodic product performance reviews with management team, and derive implications for the product strategy
o Identify, recommend, and implement product improvement initiatives to drive better financial and service product performance and address evolving market needs
· Drive Strategic Initiatives
o Responsible for leading end-to-end development & implementation of prioritized initiatives across functions; conduct alignment of responsibilities for the delivery and provide guidance to functional leads, continuously monitor progress of initiatives and report to the leadership team, serve as an escalation point for arising challenges and facilitate issue resolution
o Conduct numerical and qualitative analyses of proposed initiatives, evaluate required resources and organization effort to execute; prioritize initiatives jointly with the senior leadership team
o Indirectly lead domestic product analysts who are allocated to support select product initiatives; contribute to product analysts coaching, provide input for periodic team performance reviews
o Own & drive BCA development based on business needs
· Ongoing Product Management Tasks
o Develop in-depth understanding of all domestic products’ operating model incl. network operations, commercial model, IT, customer service, finance, USPS policies and regulations and assist with all domestic product-related questions in DHLeC
o Support sales in addressing product related customer requests, participate in customer calls on demand, and support major customer acquisition deals especially if product customization is required
o Work with marketing team to maintain and enhance product-related marketing material, plan marketing campaigns and periodically provides thought leadership/ product promotion contributions (e.g., through blogposts)


REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

· Strong overall business acumen with the ability to structure and analyze business problems, execute business analyses (e.g., BCA) and effectively prioritize goals and tasks
· Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
· Cross-functional project management skills with a demonstrated record of achieving organizational alignment, managing conflicting objectives, resolving conflicts, and delivering results on budget and on time
· Excellent communication and persuasion skills, ability to understand various perspectives, demonstrated success in building buy-in for new ideas
· Willingness to take ownership and responsibility for achieving challenging objectives
· Solution-finder mentality with a proven record of proactive problem resolution often beyond own direct responsibilities
· High proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics or related filed required
· Master’s degree in Business or related discipline is a plus
· 7+ years of experience in strategy implementation, project management, product management and/ or supply chain operations
· Management consulting experience is preferred
· Experience in Business to Consumer (B2C) small parcel shipping or carriers such as UPS, FedEx or USPS preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Physical demands are consistent with a professional office setting
· Regular sitting at workstation for 25 – 75% of the work shift
· Frequent standing and walking
· Some travel may be required (<25%)
