The Store Planning Specialist will work with store management to help drive the business. The role cuts across functions and departments and therefore requires an individual with strong organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills. This position will be assisting in or owning various initiatives and special projects that seek to improve our customers’ experience and increase sales. The primary area of focus for this role will be to manage communication and project assignment activities for the stores and field management. The activities span several different types, ranging from Store Operations, Merchandising, Pricing and Marketing projects. The secondary focus for this role is the on-going maintenance and governance of supporting communications systems.

Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Serve as the main point of contact and subject matter expert for all store operations special projects. Including seasonal merchandise transitions, marketing promotions and store department resets.
  • Responsible for setting store document standards including format and intent and maintaining ongoing document library maintenance.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in existing communications processes and drives team to take initiative to collaborate with business partners to find solutions; creates change management and implementation plans to support solving gaps.
  • Owns the partnership with Store Support Center (SSC) departments to ensure they are clear on the process and strategy for how to effectively communicate to stores and regularly assesses the needs of business partners to ensure they are being met.
  • Facilitate cross-functional partnerships with both, Operations Team and SSC partners, to ensure information accuracy and that communications are being delivered consistently and following proper guidelines.
  • Act as subject matter expert for store resets, marketing initiatives and special project resets also responsible for writing, editing and publishing field communication on an ongoing basis for these areas.
  • Manages all weekly/seasonal field communication regarding his/her area of responsibility through FIP Communications, ThinkTime or other communication methods.
  • Coordinating the implementation of each assigned project to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet expectations.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management required or retail experience.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills are essential.
  • Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Must possess proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
  • Internally motivated with the ability to be a change agent.
