Young Scholars is looking for experienced AP Biology & Chemistry Tutors with knowledge of core content, strong teaching skills, and ability to work in a fast paced environment. The position requires teaching and preparing students for the AP Biology Exam and AP Chemistry Exam.

We seek motivated individuals with strong teaching abilities who can work in a fast-paced learning environment. This is an excellent part-time opportunity for the ideal candidates. We are looking for positive and motivated professionals who are willing to work hard and change the way students view learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• B.A or B.S. degree from an accredited college/university
• Knowledge of the AP Exam subject content
• Experience teaching and preparing students for the AP Exam
• Experience working with students in middle and/or high school
• Great organizational skills
• Ability to lesson plan
• Understanding of classroom management
• Ability to build rapport with students; friendly and approachable
• Adaptable and flexible to change
• Professional attitude and work ethic
• At least 1 year of teaching experience

JOB DUTIES:

• Demonstrate a strong knowledge of content matter
• Use a multitude of instructional strategies that are rigorous and engaging to students
• Utilize and follow the curriculum to executive lesson plans to address learning needs
• Set ambitious and attainable goals for student progress
• Monitor and track student progress
• Work in collaboration with the Director of Curriculum Development and other instructors to continuously revise and develop curriculum
• Use classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning environment
• Note this is IN PERSON teaching must be willing to go to our San Marino location interview will be done via ZoomUSABO Instructor

About our company: Young Scholars Institute offers individualized tutoring and college counseling for K-12th grade students. We provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in all subjects, including AP and Honors courses. We create customized tutoring plans for each student based on his or her unique learning profile. Our goal is to help our students maximize their chances for academic success!

Our Working Hours:

- Monday to Friday 2:00pm - 9:00pm

- Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Qualifications:

- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher

- Must have at least one year of experience or have related experience

- Must be available during the times listed above (not the total 7 hours, just in between those times)

- Bilingual: fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and or Korean is preferred
