Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage Distribution personnel. This includes work direction, discipline, and evaluation of direct subordinates according to company policy and applicable laws.

Purpose: To oversee all of TEAM’s Transportation needs, domestic and international, along with coordinating the incoming and outgoing delivery of goods and products through the Distribution Center. Ensure that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a satisfactory cost. Will be involved in inventory control, warehousing, and monitoring the flow of goods. Works diligently to fully understand the supply chain process to enable effective coordination and communication with suppliers of raw materials, manufacturers, sub-contractors, and TEAM facilities.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program.
  • Manage the Logistics operations and associated fiscal activities for the business unit and any affiliated branches. Reviews and assesses the P & L monthly.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding transportation and workplace safety, including, but not limited to, monitoring Driver Qualifications files and Hours of Service.
  • Plan and develop systems, processes, and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency within the logistics function and across the business unit.
  • Analyzes and documents business processes to identify and lead initiatives that provide continuous improvement for safety, service, capacity, and cost.
  • Direct staff in development, analysis, and preparation of reports and execution of distribution activities, including developing, assigning routes, and managing contract carriers.
  • Coach direct reports to effectively manage their performance, providing on-going performance feedback.
  • Accountable for Fleet Maintenance, ensuring DOT regulations are met. Inspects and schedules fleet maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance / repairs are done in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicate with Supervisors, Managers, and Directors on all Logistic operations.
  • Approve expense reports, operations, and business unit costs.
  • Oversee and organize the operations of TEAM’s Distribution Center, which involves coordinating the outgoing and incoming delivery of goods and products, as well as creating employee schedules and managing internal staff.
  • Work with and motivate members of the team by setting objectives, plan and manage projects, and working on new supply strategies.
  • Assess and resolve issues relating to transportation, customer problems, import / export and logistics systems.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate department data for daily, weekly, and monthly reports including usage metrics, customer issues and resolutions.
  • Work to improve the entire organizations processes by negotiating with suppliers and customers, increasing efficiencies, reducing unnecessary steps, and creating innovative solutions for logistical issues.
  • Analyze the financial impact of logistical processes and proposed changes to determine maximum efficiency in terms of routing, transportation modes, and resources while continuing to meet customer requirements.
  • Create policies, safety procedures, risk management programs and supply chain processes as needed to increase logistical efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure carriers, shipping and receiving personnel, and other logistical areas comply with safety standards and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrate leadership commitment to the TEAM Industries Quality Management system and coach subordinates on their impact on TEAM QMS objectives.
  • Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Two year certificate from college or technical school
  • Three to five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution certification (CLTD) is required

  • Transportation knowledge to include:

o Ocean LCL and FCL

o Port and rail operations

o Domestic LTL and FTL

o Small package domestic and international

o Canada and Mexico border crossing operation

o Customs and clearance

o TEAM Transportation

? Leasing of equipment

? Repair and maintenance needs of equipment

  • Must have self-motivation in analytical and problem solving skills, which include knowledge of complex supply chain logistic strategies and solutions.
  • Must possess effective management abilities for understanding and organizing processes, services, and logistics for effective outcomes..
  • Ability to contribute individually to the achievement of the Supply Chain vision, strategies, and goals and work effectively with others in a group setting
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Overnight travel will be required
