Onin Staffing is currently recruiting for a company in the Rocky Mount area that services other companies in the construction of manufacturing machines. All customers they service are in and around the Nash and Wake County areas. Currently, they are in need of an Electrical Control Technician.
- Monday-Friday 1st shift
- $25-$29/hour DOE

With advanced electrical and technical knowledge, the Control Technician performs all of the below on control systems and analytical equipment. They are also responsible for the servicing of instrumentation used for controlling, analyzing, measuring, and recording.
- Moderately difficult diagnostics
- Installations
- Calibrations
- Repairs
- Programming
- Replacement of instrumentation
Some essential functions would be:
- Performs moderately difficult diagnostics to analyze problems associated with instrumentation and control systems and programmable logic controllers using test equipment such as electronic meters, simulators, and software applications related to configuration and communications protocols.
- Performs moderately difficult installations, calibrations, diagnostics, repairs, and replacements of instrumentation and control systems equipment and components.
- Performs moderate to difficult installations, calibrations, maintenance, and programming of flow meters, transmitters, controllers, and analytical equipment.
- Service hydraulic, electric, pneumatic, and mechanical instruments used for controlling, analyzing, measuring, and
- recording.
Work Experience
In this role having the ability to multitask, prioritize, plan and organize various projects is a big plus. You will need to be able to operate and select proper PPE.
- Ability to work in confined spaces where there is limited or restricted means for entry and exit, or where the work activities may be hindered or energized equipment and electrical voltage exist.
- Ability to read, interpret blueprints, schematics, ladder logic and diagrams.
- Ability to disassemble and repair instruments and controls in the field using hand tools.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and customers.
Some experience that would be a plus would be:
- Previously control system installation experience
- Trade license
- Computer and related software
- Safety rules when working with energized systems and high voltage
- Knowledge of methods, procedures, tools, and equipment used in in testing and control systems/devices
