Position Title: BANDER OPERATOR 3rd SHIFT

Pay Rate: $18.89/HR (plus 0.25 cents per hour shift differential)


Category/Shift: Hourly Full-Time 3rd Shift (10 hours shifts-OT and weekend work will be required at times depending on production schedule.)

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Operates the unitizer in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods.
  • Makes ready, operate and maintains the machine.
  • Observes and monitors machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
  • Identifies, troubleshoot and corrects product defects caused by the machine.
  • Performs routine adjustments during the unitizing and maintains proper unitizing of finished orders throughout the run.
  • Sets up and operates unitizer meeting customer specific requirements.
  • Ensures all finished orders are completed to specifications including “special unitizing instructions” if applicable.
  • Identifies and makes basic repairs to the machine.
  • Ensures Operation of machine and related equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements according to operation standards.
  • Runs the machine meeting production goals and keeping up with unitizing of all finished units from machines.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards all the time.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Comply with all IP’s Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols at all times.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports (complete forms, logs, and records accurately – as required).
  • Other duties as assigned by managers and or supervisors/shift leader.
  • Operates forklift at times to assist unloading the line and other various tasks.

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred. Trade School and/or advanced degree preferred.
  • Two years or more experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. (corrugated manufacturing is a plus).
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to problem solve with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, etc) and be able to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplications, division and use of a tape measure.
  • Comply with all IPs Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols at all times.
  • Ability to learn and understand machine line up.
  • Ability to understand/learn all operations of corrugated manufacturing.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to understand/learn and accurately utilize KIWI for setup, run instructions and production times.
  • Must be dependable and reliable
  • Ability to work in an environment that is often hot in the summer and cool in the winter.

This position requires standing throughout your entire shift and moderate to heavy lifting at times.
