We are seeking a(an) Surgical Services Administrative Assistant for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Job Summary and Qualifications

The Administrative Assistant schedules all cases for Surgery, Anesthesia, Endoscopy and Pain Management; maintains surgery schedule. Responsible for verification and necessary follow up between physician and anesthesia. Responsible for Kronos maintenance and payroll processing for all surgical services staff. Responsible for batch charging and entries for all patients on a daily basis. Provides clerical support for surgical services to include policy and procedure maintenance, scheduling questions and schedule conflict resolution, department meeting minutes, forms development and provides back-up for OR Analyst position. All job functions as required are performed in accordance with philosophy, goals and objectives of Twin Cities Hospital.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Completes, executes and perform secretarial tasks, such as, Order Entry, Scheduling procedures for OR, Anesthesia and Endoscopy, entering patient charges, prepares surgery schedule for distribution.
2. Compiles departmental statistical reports as needed.
3. Communicates, interacts and participates in teamwork on the unit.
4. Promotes and displays a positive customer oriented demeanor to patients, visitors, staff and physicians.
5. Demonstrates an understanding and is proficient in use of a computer and office equipment.
6. Maintains the unit in optimal operating condition by ordering office supplies, cleaning, cleaning general workstations and stocking of office supplies.
7. Maintains updates and compiles policies and procedures manuals, department center and regulatory agencies.
8. Maintains employee time keeping records via KRONOS.
9. Cross trains and provides back up for OR Analyst position.
10. Regular, punctual and dependable attendance.
11. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

  • None

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

  • BLS required within 30 days of hire

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as Administration Assistant preferred.
  • Healthcare setting experience preferred
