Job Summary

The Office of the Registrar at CU Boulder encourages applications for our Business Analyst and Processes Coordinator positions! We expect to fill two (2) open positions from this search!

The Business Analyst and Processes Coordinator positions are part of the CU-SIS Development unit within the Office of the Registrar, a unit that exists to provide student information system analysis, development, and support for the Campus Solutions system as it relates to records and registration. These positions test Campus Solutions PUMs and upgrades and works with University Information Systems (UIS) developers on functional requirements and changes to modifications or existing functionality. These positions also document system functionality, work on student data and conversion cleanup, write reports for internal constituents, and assist users (internal to the Office of the Registrar as well as those in academic departments, deans' offices, and other student services offices) with functional support and questions, and troubleshoot system issues found and/or reported. The areas of development work may include specialized student self-services (registration, class search, Buff portal, etc.), including fully online students and unique groups of registrants (concurrent, reciprocal exchange, senior citizens, leave of absence, withdrawals, late registrants, etc.), residency classification, graduation processing, internal/unofficial/official transcripts, and course availability information. They also support instructors and advisors through development work on the faculty center (class rosters, grade rosters, etc.) and advisor center. In addition, these positions may support and analyze processes related to fully online programs, academic standing, grade replacement, prior learning assessment and internal transfer credit.

This work unit and positions also provide batch processing related to records and registration (setting of enrollment appointments, matriculating students from admissions, setting of advising holds, etc.). The CU-SIS Development unit manages the security and access provisioning process for administrative users of CU-SIS, and the team works with the security coordinator to determine system access for modifications.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

We are hiring for two positions. The job duties for each are likely to include a combination of the following:

Business Analysis & Development:
  • Responsible for business analysis and configuration of existing and new functionality in Campus Solutions, which may include open entry/exit programs.
  • Testing of PUMs, error fixes, customizations, and other development, which may include class search/registration microsite/s for CU on Coursera program enrollments.
  • Troubleshoot issues in Campus Solutions or with vended solutions that are identified internally and/or reported by constituents.
  • Build PS Query reports to be used in business processes.
  • Write business cases and functional design documents.
  • Maintain accurate business process documentation.
  • Point of contact with developer/programmer and module team and Office of the Registrar.
  • Set and adhere to established development and "go-live" deadlines.
  • Represent the unit during Campus Community module team meetings.
Student Record Set-Up and Processing & Student Success Initiatives:
  • Set-up and manage an array of student and administrative records and processes in Campus Solutions, including matriculation, term activation, and assignment of enrollment appointments.
  • Grading and degree conferral in support of online programs.
  • Support student success initiatives such as university academic standing, campus IUT process, internal transfer and prior learning credit.
  • Schedule Campus Solutions batch processes.
  • Set up Campus Solutions 3C processes.
  • Manage review and assignment of registration holds.
Security and Access Provisioning:
  • Provide information to system users on how to request security and what access is appropriate for their positions.
  • Maintain processes for the review of all security requests and authorizes appropriate access for student employees, staff and faculty to CU-SIS records, registration, course, degree audit, validation tables and audit screens.
  • Confirm initial and ongoing completion of training required for system access request.
  • Review, approve, and submits security requests to UIS or office coordinators and maintains the supporting documentation.
  • Update and maintain appropriate SACR security, roles and permission list for users in Campus Solutions.
  • Maintain office documentation on access roles and security for Campus Solutions student information system, Degree Audit system, CU-Data reporting system, OnBase document imaging systems and other related systems.
Other duties as assigned.

Perform all work responsibilities and maintain confidentiality in all applicable policies, rules, regulations and laws, including Office of the Registrar policies, University policies, and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

What We Require

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • One year of experience with increasing responsibilities in a university setting within a student services office.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems or related field.
  • Two years of experience with increasing responsibilities in a university setting within a student services office.
  • Two years experience working with Campus Solutions student data processing, analysis and design.
  • PS Query knowledge.
  • Campus Solutions 3Cs knowledge.
  • Experience with security requests for student data and access provisioning.
