Your Coastal in the Washington District is looking for a Clothing Merchandiser.

General Position Summary:

To assist all store locations with the development and implementation of merchandising strategies that will increase sales and improve the company profit levels.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate with store managers and department leads in designing floor plan sets at all locations, including winter set map.

• Develop merchandising designs and strategies to increase add-on sales business.

• Train store personnel in merchandising display techniques.

• Coordinate seasonal set changes in clothing department.

• Design, coordinate and implement department resets.

• Conduct regular store visits to review department with manager and employees.

• Prepare and participate with inventory cycle activities in all store locations.

• Other duties as assigned by management, related to the merchandising of products.

• Reports to DM and Director of Operations

Required Job Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in clothing merchandising.

• Proven experience in designing/coordinating floor resets, remodels or reconstructions.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance and be able to travel to all store locations.

• Must have exceptional attention to detail

• Self-Motivated for training and learning

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving.

• Ability to work and interact with different vendors and different departments throughout organization

• Job may require working in the stores, putting out freight, and helping with deliveries to get projects done in a timely manner.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Management or related major is preferred or equivalent experience.

Physical Demands/Job Conditions

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs to move merchandise.

• Physical capability of participating in resets, remodels and reconstruction projects.

• Overnight travel as required.

Basic Job Skills and Abilities:

• Professional etiquette and positive attitude in all communications including phone and radio with associates and customers

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Ability to read, count, write to accurately complete all documentation

• Ability to freely access all areas of the store including sales floor, stock area, and register area.
