THIS IS A VOLUNTEER POSITION HOSTED BY CATHOLIC CHARITIES THAT HAS A BIWEEKLY LIVING ALLOWANCE OF $697.08, TO BE PAID DIRECTLY BY AMERICORPS.

CCOSU serves three counties that include urban, suburban, and rural communities and a population living below the poverty line that is lower than the national average.

CCOSU and AMERICORPS have come together with a project goal to alleviate poverty by increasing program awareness to potential clients and referral sources, enhancing community outreach, improving program utilization, and promoting sustainability of CCOSU services.

The Community Outreach Liaison - Volunteers In Service To America (VISTA) will increase outreach to marginalized community members, including food/housing insecure, immigrants, and those with SUD; build program capacity through outreach utilizing promotional materials, social media, and event participation, develop and implement an outreach communications plan, and support fundraising initiatives.

Essential job responsibilities include:

(1) Assist in increasing visibility and utilization of agency programs and services by enhancing communications with potential referral sources.

(2) Develop traditional and digital communication outreach efforts in order to promote agency programs and events, improve utilization, and encourage donations.

(3) Assist with the coordination and production of agency fundraising activities that will raise money for the continued availability of programs and services to those in need.

(4) Develop, maintain, and revise office organizational systems to maximize performance and efficiency in order to meet deadlines and recognize important milestones.

(5) Work with agency programs needing volunteer assistance to identify when volunteers are needed. Task volunteers will perform and recruit volunteers to meet those needs.
