Job Summary:
Coastal Construction and Lumber, one of the leading fencing and ornamental iron suppliers in the New Home Construction Industry, are seeking a Controller. The Controller will oversee all accounting transactions by accounts payable, track material costs, monitor project profitability, payroll entry, bank account reconciliations, and prepare monthly financials. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing accounts receivable, billing functions, and preparing monthly reporting packages.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Direct all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Analyze the company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad key process indicator report to senior management.
  • Analyze profit and loss for fencing and iron business.
  • Develop and coordinate all relationships with lending/financial institutions.
  • Assist management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
  • Coordinate, prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Manage all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.
  • Forecast and manage cash flow.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in the construction industry with activity-based project costing preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and efficiently manage tasks and time.
  • Computer literate with construction industry-specific software

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 3+ years of managerial accounting and financial management experience
