Overview

The Director, AP Equipment and Technology will lead all Asset Protection Equipment and Technology initiatives across the organization. This includes the responsibility for the strategic design, roadmap, planning, and implementation efforts through the stores, corporate, and distribution footprint. They interact with leaders of field and corporate departments to facilitate support and alignment on the technology roadmap. They support Burlington’s commitment to safe and secure locations by creating systemic protocols to ensure equipment is installed, functioning, and maintained as intended. They work with internal partners to create specific technology requirements and SLAs to achieve program success

The Director, AP Equipment and Technology leads and manages the teams responsible for both program and project management, including new equipment installations, existing repair and maintenance, and modifications and retrofits. These teams are responsible for ensuring Asset Protection Equipment and Technology is designed and implemented through a consistent and effective process that is on brand and within the overall strategic scope. They also own the sourcing and research on industry specific technology changes and enhancements that can fit into Burlington’s overall roadmap. Their key role is leveraging technology to support safe and secure environments and shortage reducing strategies through a consistent and brand implementation and design approach.

The Director, AP Equipment & Technology plays a crucial role in leading an impactful Equipment and Technology strategy by:

  • Establishing enterprise-wide strategic roadmap, policies, and standards for all AP Equipment and Technology items, including CCTV, Alarms, EAS, and physical security projects
  • Contributing to the determination of plans and selection criteria for acquiring technology hardware and software assets to fit in with overall strategic roadmap
  • Working closely with internal partners to establish SLAs for design and implementation projects and initiatives. Influence partners cross functionally to support overall strategy
  • Working closely with external partners to establish program requirements/SLAs, professional expectations, and business review conversations. Additionally, lead the effort to create systemic mechanisms (photo validation, virtual tours, etc.) to regularly review work to ensure it aligns with AP Equipment strategy
  • Owning and stewarding all elements of the program budget to ensure proper targeting and forecasting
  • Providing oversight and leadership to the holistic AP Department installation and upgrade strategy with a focus on business needs, priorities, and proper workload planning
  • Representing the organization at trade shows and industry events to stay current with technology improvements and solution providers. Be able to offer recommendations for future enhancements or modifications
  • Traveling to specific sites and projects to walk scope with internal and external partners, review completed work, or strategize for future program enhancements
  • Delivering projects and initiatives on time and on budget

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience leading in a technology or equipment related function/industry; familiarity with retail environments is also a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to be forward thinking and strategic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of influencing cross functional business partners
  • Excellent analytical skills and conceptual ability to recognize and impact areas across the business
  • Demonstrates ability to handle multiple projects at one time and comfortable working with tight deadlines or ambiguous scenarios; Has a clear bias for action and holds others accountable to results
  • Self-motivated individual who can be successful in a fast-paced environment
  • Occasional travel required. Ability to walk for long periods in stores and distribution centers.
