Under the general direction of the Director of Communications, the Web/Graphic Designer will be responsible for the design, production, and maintenance of all webpages, print, and digital materials for the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS). The Web/Graphic Designer should be well-versed in WordPress and its plug-ins in order to manage the design and development of all the school websites and its various online properties. The incumbent will be instrumental in helping to launch a new ICS website and migrating over older online properties into WordPress. The incumbent will be responsible for the design and production of the school’s annual report and all printed, marketing, and promotional materials and items. The Web/Graphic Designer will ensure all website and online properties are dynamic, up-to-date and consistently evolving; manage production work in a timely manner with sharp attention to detail while working in a team environment with challenging deadlines This position requires a highly creative person with broad professional experience and technical knowledge in the following areas: website design and development using WordPress; publication and graphic design; branding; photography; video editing and production; and e-mail marketing. Having a background in photography, videography, podcasting and digital media would be beneficial.

Required:
• At least 3-5 years of professional experience in web and graphic design. • A well-rounded portfolio of graphic design work, showing the ability to produce, large publications, marketing flyers, logos, promotional items, etc. • Experience using WordPress and WordPress plugins for the design and development of websites. • Some experience in photography and videography.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of design and user experience, including skill to design in an appealing, lively and relevant way. Thorough understanding of technical language and requirements of the assigned work. Thorough knowledge of content management systems and / or relevant web applications used for web production and organization-specific computer application programs. Thorough skills to create clear, easy-to-navigate, informative, accurate, well-designed, and functional web sites that provide web content consistent with the organization's message and in keeping with management directives and client objectives. Thorough understanding of organization's processes, procedures, and applicable rules and regulations for web communications. Thorough technical skills in computer applications for web production, image handling, publishing and design, illustration, presentation preparation, animation, web interaction, and / or other state-of-the-art web communication capabilities. Thorough interpersonal communication skills. Thorough skills to develop and implement original ideas and correctly identify and effectively solve problems.
Preferred:
Thorough experience in the use of photography, videography, and AV equipment and software. Knowledge of UX/UI and front-end development.
