About Us:

The Mission of the Ohio Department of Commerce is promoting prosperity by protecting what matters most.

The Division of Financial Institutions ensures Ohioans’ money is safe by regulating financial institutions and service providers. This includes examining, supervising and regulating Ohio chartered banks and credit unions, and licensing and regulating non-depository mortgage brokers, mortgage loan originators, and other consumer lenders. The Division’s Office of Consumer Affairs provides assistance to consumers to help resolve complaints against these institutions and works to provide education to Ohioans regarding financial literacy and other consumer protection topics.

What You'll Do:

  • Processes and files individual files/records using the “Intellivue” document management system.
  • Manages and maintains records for the three sections in the Division of Financial Institutions using the Jeeter File Storage system.
  • Duplicates records in response to inquiries and requests (public records)
  • Works with DFI legal staff regarding policies and procedures related to records management and document retention schedules.
  • Performs related administrative and clerical duties

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Qualifications


Formal education in English & arithmetic that includes reading & writing common vocabulary & fractions, decimals & percentages; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in records management; 1 course or 3 mos. exp. in public relations or business communications with emphasis on writing letters & oral communication.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.


Knowledge of records management; computer entry*; electronic records storage systems*; laws, rules & procedures for retention, destruction & distribution of records*; supervisory principles/techniques*; employee training & development*; public relations; fractions, decimals & percentages.

Ability to apply principles to solve practical, everyday problems; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; write routine business letters reflecting standard procedures; prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports; handle sensitive inquiries from & contacts with officials & general public.
