What You’ll Do The Inventory Control Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting both shipping and logistics operations. This individual will be responsible for assisting our Warehouse Manager in organizing and managing shipments, booking freight, reconciling inventory, and ensuring that all warehouse processes run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

Logistics

  • Assist the Warehouse Manager with creating shipment orders and booking logistic freight.
  • Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Track shipments to ensure timely delivery and promptly address any issues or delays.
  • Communicate with internal departments on shipment status and updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities.
  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Assist with the processing of returns, exchanges, and warranty claims.

Shipping

  • Assist with picking and packing orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Organize and delegate tasks for the shipping department.
  • Assist in receiving and processing incoming shipments.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and report any discrepancies to the Warehouse Manager.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and efficient manner (training provided as needed).
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Shipping processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant certifications or additional education is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a warehouse, logistics, or related role.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience with inventory management software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire is preferred.
