The Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment, while meeting productivity requirements and maintaining KDP’s high standards in safety and quality.
Shift & Schedule: This is a full time position on working weekends on 3rd shift. Flexibility to work overtime and holidays as scheduled is required.
Schedule: 9 pm- 530 AM Monday – Friday, overtime required as needed
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment, demonstrating safe behaviors always.
- Focus on Good Manufacturing and Food Safety practices in all work.
- Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.
- Wire moderately complex control circuits.
- Teach basic mechanical skills to line operators to support autonomous maintenance, TPM functions, equipment set-up and centerlining.
- Fabricate, repair, and install hangers and all types of piping including hot/cold water, steam, process and condensate, utilizing formulas for all phases.
- Ability to quickly learn to weld and machine metals, plastics, and composites.
- Fabricate or replicate minor pieces for the repair or replacement of parts on equipment.
- Complete size changeovers and troubleshoot liquid fillers and packaging equipment.
- Identify root causes of mechanical, electrical and control failures and resolve with effective problem-solving tools with minimal downtime or supervision.
- Troubleshoot and program minor changes in Allen Bradley PLC (SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix and ControlLogix).
- Generate productivity and continuous improvement ideas.

- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education
- Self-motivated team player with the ability and willingness to make decisions, effectively communicate, problem solve and teach others.
- Lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to frequently walk, kneel, squat, climb, bend, stoop, and twist.
- Ability to work in a variety of temperature and humidity conditions.
- Compensation: Pay starting at $33.99 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $35.74 per hour in the quarter after their 6 month anniversary.
