Position Description

The Jindal School of Management seeks to fill a part-time (50%) non-tenure-system faculty position (Assistant/Associate/Professor of Practice) in the Real Estate area. The Candidate will be expected to help in the development of our real estate programs and teach real estate courses. The successful candidate should have at least fifteen years of real estate industry experience with proven executive level presentation and training instructor experience for teaching real estate finance. A PhD, MBA or MS in Real Estate or Finance or a closely related field from an accredited university is required.
In addition to teaching, the candidate will assist the Director of Real Estate Programs and the Director of the Weitzman Institute for Real Estate in all aspects of administering the real estate programs. Duties will include, but not be limited to, advising students, advising the Real Estate
Club at UTD, managing all aspects of student case competitions, assist students with involvement of industry association conferences, alumni relations, attending academic meetings, ensuring updates web sites are current, making curriculum and scheduling changes, and meeting with industry participants as needed.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Master of Science or PhD in the areas of real estate finance or equivalent and demonstrate their commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. All candidates are expected to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives. The appointment commences fall 2023.

Preferred Education and Experience

Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate classes;
Mentor and/or advise undergraduate and/or graduate students;
Engage in service within the academic unit, the university, and the profession as appropriate based on teaching and research constraints;
Teach 4 classes each academic year.
