Job description

We are looking for experienced Maintenance Technicians in the Defiance area. This metal treatment plant produces superior products with outstanding durability and a production process that leaves no hazardous byproducts.

Hours:

-2nd shift – 4 PM-12 AM + Overtime and On-Call as needed.

-3rd shift – 12 AM-8 AM + Overtime and On-Call as needed.

Pay:

Both shifts are $23.50 – 34/hr. depending on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Responsible to ensure corporate integrity within their area of expertise.

-Responsible for implementing the philosophy of total quality and the use of quality control (statistical problem solving and customer service) techniques within their position.

-Responsible for determining and receiving ongoing training required for quality performance in job function in this position.

-Responsible for the coordination of maintenance priorities and schedules with the Plant Manager.

-Responsible for the determination, implementation, and execution of preventative maintenance programs and emergency breakdowns including mechanical systems, electrical systems, control systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.

-Responsible for determination, requisition, and inventorying of maintenance supplies, materials, and inventories in conjunction with the Plant Manager.

-Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of MP2 inventory and preventative maintenance.

-Responsible for the documentation of all maintenance activity per specific shift.

-Responsible for working various shifts and being "on-call" as required.

-May be required to work at other locations for cross-training.

-Responsible for OSHA compliance.

-Responsible for developing critical and semi-critical spare parts requirements, establishing agreed inventory levels, requisitioning, and monitoring stock levels.

-Responsible for directing the maintenance activities of outside vendors.

-Responsible for the execution of assigned specials projects; Responsible for developing new ideas for improvements in the plant or procedures of maintenance that would save time and money and also increase productivity.

-Responsible to assume the role of absence, gap coverage, or vacation backup for heat treatment personnel including all associated responsibilities.

-Responsible to assist in production processing and coordinating activities on shift when workloads or manning requirements necessitate such involvement per prescribed production schedules.

-Responsible for shift change-related communications.

-Responsible to assist in coordinating specials, samples, and other customer requests upon the guidance of the quality department.

-Responsible to coordinate production schedules to satisfy customer requirements where required.

-Responsible to support the review and disposition of Hold/ Non-Conform areas on a daily basis under the guidance of the quality department.

-Responsible to capture and sending all shipping documentation to customers on a weekly basis.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS / ABILITIES:

-Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.

-Must possess good math skills.

-Above-average organizational skills.

-Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

-One to two years of industrial experience.

-Capable of working various shifts as required.

-Must pass a proficiency test in welding.

-Must be capable of using/reading a voltage ohm meter or multimeter.

-Must have basic maintenance skills for mechanical systems, robotics, electrical systems, control systems, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems.

-Must own enough tools to satisfy tool requirements.

-Must be available for overnight travel several times per year if needed.

-Must have reliable transportation to the job site.
