On Demand is seeking a Medical Assistant for our office in Austintown, Ohio.


On Demand Occupational Medicine, is looking for someone who likes to keep it moving throughout the day in a medium to fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Actively communicate with patients and families
  • Assists in patient / family education within their own capabilities and under the direction of a licensed nurse.
  • Perform drug screens, hair tests, breathalyzer and fingerprinting.
  • Perform respiratory fit test, audiogram, spirometry, muscular skeletal, depth perception, urinalysis, vaccines, injections and phlebotomy.
  • Provides direct care (i.e.-vital signs, transporting to other departments) or other care to patients.
  • Accurately communicates patient findings and pertinent information to the licensed nurse utilizing appropriate communication/documentation processes (ex. SBAR) and reports patient complaints and/or signs of distress/pain promptly to the nurse responsible for the patient.
  • Documentation of care will be completed in a precise, accurate manner abiding by established guidelines for charting.
  • Follows safety policies and procedures in the delivery of care to assure a safe environment for patients, families and other staff members.
  • Accurately collects, processes and submits laboratory specimens and may perform phlebotomy.
  • Completes all assignments during scheduled working hours.
  • Must possess general computer knowledge and general office equipment familiarity.
  • Must become certified and proficient in DOT physicals, drug tests, breath alcohol testing, hair collection and fingerprinting.
  • Other duties as required.


Technical Expertise:

  • Experience in phlebotomy is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of and experience in medical terminology is required.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.
  • Experience working in electronic medical record (ex. Medent) or similar software is preferred.
  • Certified Medical Assisting preferred.

Education And Experience:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Completion of state approved Medical Assistant Program, EMT, or Paramedic Program is required.
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
  • Years of relevant experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience is preferred.
  • Years of experience supervising: None
