Medical Mail Clerk

AAI is actively recruiting a Medical Mail Clerk to provide support in the Post Office/Mail Room located
at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Handle sorting and mail distribution for 12 tenant commands, 10 branch clinics, 4235 military/civilian staff, and patients.
  • Maintains database for postal locator files for departments and individuals.
  • Update address changes in the Naval Postal Directory, and transfer information to transient military/population.
  • Reassign undelivered mail via Outlook/Staff Search.
  • Responsible for enforcing Command, NDW, or USPS regulations and guidelines.
  • Process certified insured, registered, delivery confirmation and express mail; and disposition items for returning undeliverable accountable mail.
  • Act as liaison for handling customer complaints and concerns.
  • Perform customer relation duties by telephone or in person.
  • Schedule and facilitate mail orderly training.
  • Prepare and maintain forms for authorized mail personnel.
  • Collects, records, controls, sorts, processes, and dispatches all incoming and outgoing Accountable Mail (Registered, Certified, and Insured Mail), and Special Handling Mail (Express Mail).
  • Process Accountable and Special Handling Mail through the USPS or other authorized mail service in accordance with DOD, DON, and USPS regulations and policies and obtain receipts and authorized signatures for all accountable and special handling mail.
  • Performs mail statistical surveys, when directed, and maintains positive accountability documentation on the DOD/DON official mail costs.
DMHRSi Completion:
  • Contractors must log into the DMHRSi site on the final work day of each reporting period (every 2 weeks)
  • Properly enter hours worked on each day during the reporting period
  • Save and submit hours before leaving on the last workday of the reporting period.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a good command of the English Language both oral and written.
  • Familiar with mail and package handling.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of the Commands, NDW, or USPS regulations and guidelines

UNIQUE MILITARY HEALTH CARE COMPUTER SYSTEMS/PROCEDURES:
  • Composite Health Care systems (CHCS) and/or MHS GENESIS.
  • Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA). An electronic medical record documentation system designed for the MHS.
  • Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS).
  • Military Filing System - by sponsor social security number, terminal digit order, color-coded and blocked filing system.
  • Contents of a military medical record, layout, sections, family member prefix designation, forms used in an MTF, and the medical record tracking procedures.
  • EssentrisTM, the client-server version of the Clinical Information System (CIS)
  • Coding Compliance Editor (CCE) Systems.
