Pratt & Whitney has just completed construction on a world-class turbine airfoil production facility in Asheville, North Carolina. The new 1,000,000-square-foot facility will house an advanced casting foundry for production of turbine airfoils as well as conduct machining, coating and finishing of hardware onsite. This state-of-the-art facility will implement best-in-class manufacturing technologies and processes exemplifying industry 4.0 manufacturing principles while complementing existing turbine airfoil work that is currently done across Pratt & Whitney’s facilities.

The Vanes Manufacturing Engineering organization within the Asheville site is seeking a motivated Process ME to help develop and drive continuous improvements in all aspects of the assigned Manufacturing Area. Key Vane Manufacturing Areas currently needing more engineering resources are Grind, Mill and Sinker EDM.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own all technical aspects of the assigned Manufacturing Area.
• Coordinate with Machine Tool Builders on technical requirements.
• Work with Vendors on Durable and Perishable Tool design. Own the result.
• Write part specific CNC programs when needed. Support production implementation.
• Develop detailed part specific work instructions for processes within your designated area.
• Help construct solid PFMEAs & Control Plans specific to assigned hardware machining processes.
• Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and support improvements in Cell Layout & Operation.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a Technical Field or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years experience in a Precision Machining environment.
• Hands on manufacturing know-how and advanced problem-solving skills are a must for this position.
• US citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred Qualifications:

• Broad knowledge of the Aerospace Industry and experience in Turbine Engine parts manufacturing.
