Hart Precision Machining is seeking a technical quality inspector to help Hart inspect and improve checking methods for current and new jobs across our 20 CNC machines. Position would include high levels of responsibility, autonomy, and growth.

This position is for individuals with advanced quality experience only, specifically in the area of CNC machining. You must have high levels of competency with hard checks and gauging.(0.001" tolerances with tight GD&T and true position are typical), and be able to run CMM programs using Hexagon's PC-DMIS software.

Requirements:

  • 5 years experience in Quality inspection for CNC machined parts

  • 5 years experience in blueprint reading and interpretation of complex GD&T.

  • 5 years experience setting up bore gages, bar gages, and master block build-ups.

  • 5 years experience in executing surface plate checks for flatness, position, runout, etc.

  • 3 years experience running CMM programs.

  • CMM programming experience preferred.

  • CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily inspections, floor checks, and final audit procedures.
  • Fill out first piece layouts for new and returning jobs.
  • Complete receiving inspection workflows including collecting and verifying certification conformance.
  • Calibrate in-house gauges and monitor calibration schedule.
  • Compile upcoming job instructions and gauging for issue to the floor
  • Assist in developing in-process check procedures, work instructions, and check methods
  • Modify existing CMM programs to be more efficient and update reports to improve feature identification and consistency with check sheets.
  • Create new CMM programs and design CMM fixtures with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and ease of use. CAD experience is a plus for designing CMM fixtures and other quality equipment.
  • Participate in corrective action meetings to investigate root causes and implement quality changes where needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by researching quality improvements and developing proposals.
  • Develop quality inspectors and machinists to more effectively contribute to production and process improvement. Educate operators to reduce production errors and downtime.

Salary info:

$18 - $30 / hr
