The Radiology Support Assistant is responsible for managing and supporting the daily operational workflows of the department and ensuring that exams coming from clients will be ready for Radiologist interpretation. This position is in important role that will ensure exams are being read by our radiologists in a timely manner. The Support assistant must utilize problem solving skills in real time as well as strategically evaluate real time performance. This position will also be key in initiating communication of critical findings to care team and establishing physician to physician communication. To be successful in this role, you will need to be organized, reliable, results-driven and show constant focus as well as be customer oriented and promote a positive team culture. Occasional weekends, holidays and call shifts may be required as needed.

3rd shift hours. Rotating schedule including 12-hour and 10-hour shifts.

You are responsible for

  • Monitor and process Emergent and Non-Emergent incoming exam queues to ensure that exams are processed by exam priority.
  • Promote and prioritize high level of customer service for radiologists, clients, and the healthcare locations we serve.
  • Communicate, document, and escalate critical findings to the appropriate care provider.
  • Complete support request submitted by radiologists for missing images, reports, exam information, connection to a referring provider, additional history or any request to effectively complete a quality read for a patient/client
  • Process and complete addendum requests
  • Evaluate allocation of studies in adherence to pre-determined rules to ensure efficiency and appropriate allocation regarding subspecialties and privileges.
  • Handling inbound and outbound calls to and from customers, listening to customers needs or issues and providing helpful solutions to their problems.
  • Collaborate and escalate IT concerns that arise for clients and Radiologist.
  • Collaborate with appropriate teams regarding radiologist schedule changes and sites specific concerns.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 1-year professional experience in related industry or functional domain, preferably in a fast-paced medical or customer service environment delivering high quality patient care and/or customer service.
  • Possess adequate knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Possess adequate computer skills and computer program knowledge.
  • Possess the ability to troubleshoot and quickly resolve any issues and ability to multi-task.
