Position is 60%, specific days and time to be determined.JOB SUMMARY: To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate intervention program for Tier II and Tier III students in the area of mathematics. QUALIFICATIONS: -Bachelors Degree in Education, concentration in mathematics preferred.-Experience with implementing math interventions preferred.-New Hampshire License for the position-Must pass a background check.REPORTS TO: -Building PrincipalRESPONSIBILITIES: Planning and Preparation-Demonstrate knowledge of current trends in mathematics.-Establish goals for the instructional support program appropriate to the setting.-Demonstrate knowledge of resources, both within and beyond the school and district.-Plan the instructional support program, integrated with the overall school program.-Develop a plan to evaluate the instructional support program.-Plan and prepare intensive intervention for students with that level of need in mathematics.-Plan and assist others in planning instruction incorporating a variety of strategies including mathematics-specific instructional technologies to build all students conceptual understanding and procedural proficiency.-Research and provide information and guidance regarding a range of effective and innovative math strategies through various activities such as: individual discussions (informal and formal), coaching sessions, demonstration lessons with pre- and post-discussion/analysis, study groups, staff meetings, and professional development programs.The Environment-Cultivate respectful and affirming environments which demonstrate caring and respect that honors. students identities, race, and cultural background.-Organize spaces for learning which are safe and accessible to all students.-Create an environment of trust and respect.-Establish a culture for ongoing instructional improvement.-Organize physical space for instruction.Delivery of Service-Use mathematical content and pedagogical knowledge to select, use, adapt, and determine the suitability of mathematics curricula and teaching materials for particular learning goals.-Use assessments for evidence of understanding, analyze progress, and provide constructive feedback.-Respond flexibly to student needs by adjusting the learning experience based on real-time evidence and students individual and specific needs.-Collaborate with school-based professionals to develop evidence-based interventions for high- and low-achieving students.-Participation in grade level meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve the focus of instructional planning and student achievement.Professional Responsibilities-Engage in reflective practice.-Document student progress with accurate and accessible systems for tracking student learning and other records; use these systems efficiently and effectively.-Engagement with families and communities which is culturally responsive, demonstrates a clear value for the role they play in student learning, and furthers students academic and personal success.-Prepare and submit budgets and reports.-Coordinate works with other instructional specialists.-Participate in a professional community.-Engage in professional development.-Exhibit high standards of ethical practice and wise decision making on behalf of students, families, and colleagues.Adheres to: -Ed. 510: Code of Conduct for New Hampshire Educators -Guiding Principles: The Code of Ethics for New Hampshire Educators-All district school board policies and procedures-All district handbooksSKILLS AND ABILITIESThis position requires: -Dependability-Concern for others-Self-control-Adaptability/flexibility-Integrity-Initiative-Cooperation-Persistence-Innovation-Analytical thinking-Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships-Updating and using relevant knowledge-Making decisions and solving problems-Thinking creatively-Communicating with supervisors, colleagues, families, community, and students-Developing and building teams-Resolving conflicts and negotiating with others-Analyzing data or information-Performing administrative activities such as paperworkTECHNOLOGY SKILLS: -Electronic mail software-Multi-media educational software-Google applications-Data inputPHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: -Reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to handle objects and operate computers, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment.
