About the job: The company is seeking an experienced estimator to join our team focused on Healthcare and Life Science construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and budgets from early pre-construction through final cost submission. The role requires the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications, collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors, and develop a comprehensive and competitive estimate.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed takeoffs, quantity surveys, and cost estimates for ground-up, tenant improvement, and renovation projects specific to Healthcare.
• Analyze and interpret project plans, specifications, and construction documents.
• Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality materials.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and site visits to identify potential risks and opportunities.
• Review and clarify bid documents and contract requirements.
• Actively participate in development estimates on large projects involving multiple Company team members
• Understand and evaluate labor for self-performance work.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop proactive value engineering options and cost-saving strategies.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and costs
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Proficient in estimating software, Blubeam, Excel
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willing to ask questions and brainstorm solutions with team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (Construction experience and/or CM Certificate are acceptable alternatives)
• Hospital, Veterinary, Medical Clinic, Imaging, or Lab estimating experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
