The opportunity:

This position is responsible for overseeing the Logistics department in the areas of leadership, safety, employee performance, and all logistical operations for the Solvay mill.

How you will impact WestRock:

• Lead the logistics and warehousing teams to ensure success of the department.
• Manage teams and hold them accountable for all inbound and outbound job functions.
• Follow all safety processes and procedures.
• Adopt and promote the WestRock core values and beliefs of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, and Excellence.
• Maintain ISO compliance in the areas of responsibility.
• Detention review and approval.
• Freight tracking (rail, dedicated, OTR or other methods of shipment).
• Process inbound fiber tickets.
• Assist with fiber exceptions.
• Support the OB/IB responsibilities as required and assigned.
• Provide vacation coverage to transportations specialists when needed.
• Support process improvements efforts as well as other logistical improvements.
• Available to be on-call.
• Provide clerical support to the Transportation specialists as well as the Asst. Controller.
• Assist with the sale of off-spec finished goods as well as with month end physical inventory.
• Assist with identifying, tracking, and shipping of orphan rolls.
• Other duties & responsibilities as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

• High school diploma or equivalent plus minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial customer service, production scheduling, and/or logistics/transportation role.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and team skills, and strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
• Strong ability to accurately manage and enter data into databases and spreadsheets, take direction, work independently and work in a professional manner with all levels of the team.
• Must be task oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to successfully prioritize work.
• Must also be a positive and team motivated member of the team at Solvay.
• Experience in logistics and report functions preferred.
