About the Role
As Senior Accounting Manager you will be responsible for review of monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules including reconciliation and roll forwards of various accounts, as well as creation of similar schedules for the most complicated areas. You will review recurring and ad hoc journal entries, and act as preparer for the more complex journal entries. This role is responsible for managing the monthly close, including ensuring all required tasks are completed by various members of the Accounting and Finance teams. You will need to actively developing junior staff and to foster relationships with operations teams both domestically and abroad (China) in order to ensure appropriate data is made available to ensure accurate financial reporting. You will work extensively within Netsuite, our ERP system, and multiple feeder systems including SalesForce, BigCommerce, aas well as the employee expense reporting tool Expensify. An aptitude for systems is required, and Netsuite specific experience is highly preferred. This role will play a major part in the annual external audit, and will interact with various external consultants and service providers frequently. This role is the most senior 'on-site' Accounting and Finance team member, and is a very visible role within the organization. As such, excellent communication skills are essential.
What You Will Do
- Prepare and review account reconciliations and roll forwards
- Review journal entries performed by Accounting staff and Senior; Prepare complex Journal entries
- Oversee and work closely with third party consultants and project teams (Tax, auditors, ERP systems consultants)
- Oversee the monthly Financial close process
- Mentor and develop accounting staff and seniors
- Assist in implementing process improvement initiatives, including systems enhancements
- Manage employee expense reporting
- Research and analyze unusual transactions and complex accounting issues that may arise
What We Are Looking For
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years related relevant experience
- Public accounting experience highly preferred
- Netsuite experience highly preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite or related software
- Strong systems background, ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly
- Analytical mindset, ability to dig into an issue and ascertain the root cause
- Excellent time management skills and experience juggling multiple priorities
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills, ability to explain complex accounting issues in a manner that operations personnel can understand and appreciate.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, and ability to perform accounting research.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
- Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment
- Fast-paced, dynamic environment with ability to pivot to different priorities to support business
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Limited physical effort required
Compensation Range: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $130,000-$145,000 per year; base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and years of experience. We typically target mid-range for well-qualified candidates. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including equity and full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
