Position Summary:


With the supervision of the HIM Manager, the EHR database administrator oversees day to day supervision and management of the EHR. This position will serve as Tier 3 support for EHR needs, including coverage for Tier 1 and Tier 2 as needed.

Primary responsibilities include:


  • Provides training and troubleshooting for LifeCircles HIM staff and contracted providers to maximize use and understanding of the EHR and related document management processes.
  • Works to ensure design and development of EHR systems capture data in an effective and useful manner.
  • Leads system security monitoring, as well as user management activities.
  • Identifies and transitions manual workflows that can be streamlined via other software applications or automated processes.
  • Assists with the development of workflows and document management.

- Data Analysis and Reporting - works with HIM Analyst on any data integrity issues and reporting concerns.

  • Assists with resolving issues with data integrity and completion.
  • Participates in the development of HIM Policies and Procedures, with HIM Manager.
  • Serves as a member of organization committees, user groups, and task forces.
  • Participates in outside user groups, conferences, or training sessions to enhance skills, maintain awareness of technical advances, and obtain technical assistance.
  • Provides general support for use of EHR application.

Required Qualifications

  • Operational experience with EMR / EHR system(s)
  • Experience with instructional design and curriculum/training material development


  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Previous experience with workflow analysis/documentation, end-user training/support and system testing (Absolutely Necessary)
  • 1+ years experience with EMR / EHR system assisting with system implementation and support required (Absolutely Necessary)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Outlook.
  • Experience working with computer networks and software development preferred.
